Product Test North Sea 2011

A full-scale product test was performed in 2011 by the Royal Dutch coastguard, navy and rescue services on the North Sea. Four simulated pirate attacks at varying speeds put the product to the test with promising results in all cases the pirates were unable to come within five meters of the ship.

Swivelboom Prototype: SWB-7

P-Trap Swivelboom 7 (SWB-7) is a P- Trap prototype. The system is currently operational and makes multiple transits through the Gulf of Adan and West Africa. Prototype swivelboom length is 7 meter, fixed sheaves.

Seatrade Awards

Piracy was the theme of the evening at the 23rd Seatrade Awards Ceremony Dinner, held April 4 at Londons Guildhall. International Maritime Organization (IMO) Secretary-General, Efthimios Mitropoulos chaired the event which honored exceptional contributions made over the last year within the maritime industry.

Lloyd’s List Awards

P-Trap, has been shortlisted for the Lloyds List Awards, Global 2011. The ceremony took place on September 20 in the Hilton Parklane hotel in London. This years event addressed many issues facing the maritime industry, including piracy which poses a serious safety threat to seafarers passing through the Gulf of Aden and other pirate-infested regions.

Safety At Sea Award

Westmark BV, creator of P-Trap, was named winner in the Security category at the 5th annual Safety at Sea International Awards held recently on board the historic warship HMS Belfast in London.
