P-trap swivel system

The P-trap swivelboom is the most commonly applied mechanism. Swivel motion allows easy sea fastening when not in use. It is standard deployed by vessel crew prior to the high risk areas. The swivelboom can be stored similar to storing a gangway and can be delivered in modules allowing some vessels to store the main components in the vessels storage lockers. The P-trap foundation is bolted to a baseplate, which is welded to deck. The swivelboom is transferrable to antoher vessel with baseplate.

Technical information

The P-Trap is delivered with required technical specifications as well as installation, deployment, operation and retrieval procdures. A detailed risk assessments for system integration is included, as well as, weak link and break test certification.

Advantages

  • Reduced risk getting boarded
  • Simple hardening hardware
  • Passive non-lethal protection
  • Continuous protection no crew involvement
  • All weather conditions protected
  • Additional protective barrier
  • Physical: hardening vessel
  • Mental: crew state of mind

Swivelboom SWB-55

The Swivelboom 55 (SWB-55) is a heavy designed modular P-Trap. It consists of mainly steel components combined with different rigging arrangements. The SWB-55 model reaches 10 meter (approximatley 30 ft) outboard.

Advantages

• Horizontal reach allows installation, operation and retrieval of the system inboards, rather than close to the railing (if the vessel has sufficient deck space).
• The long reach in combination with installation close to the railing can bridge a gap between installation location on the shoulders (or bow bending moment) of the vessel achieving a maximum forward and therefore a maximum protected safety zone.
• Vessel crew can remove all exposed and vulnerable parts (such as; rigging arrangements, winches and hardware) when the system is not operational.
• Possibility for component storages below decks. The system is welded to deck or optionally bolted to a baseplate welded to deck, which makes the SWB-55 equipment available for storage or transferrable to another vessel in the fleet.

Swivelboom SWB-33

The Swivelboom 33 (SWB-33) is a reduced weight modular build P-Trap. It consists of mainly steel components combined with different rigging arrangements. The SWB-33 model reaches 6 meter (approximatley 18 ft) outboard. The model is installed on vessels design allows P-Trap placement alongside the vessel side where it is still still straight (rather than closer to the bow bridging the bending moment).

Advantages

• The system components are reduced in weight, which makes the SWB-33 easier to handle during installation, operation and retrieval of the system inboards.
• Vessel crew can remove all exposed and vulnerable parts (such as; rigging arrangements, winches and hardware) when the system is not operational.
• Possibility for component storages below decks.

The system can be welded to deck or is bolted to a baseplate welded to deck, making the SWB-33 equipment available for storage or transferrable to another vessel in the fleet.
